A good painted finish starts below the surface
A new colour can transform a room, but paint does not automatically hide holes, grease, loose material, cracks or uneven previous repairs. Komfortliv paints and fills small to medium-sized projects in Oslo homes, offices, shops and rental properties after assessing the substrate and the preparation needed for the finish you want.
The service can stand alone or be combined with cleaning, small carpentry, mounting and preparation before sale or move-in. Work outside ordinary hours may be arranged in advance.
What the work can include
Full skim coating, extensive board joints, major plaster repairs and substrates with many old layers are assessed separately. Active moisture, mould, nicotine, soot or recurring stains are not simply painted over; the cause and any necessary stain-blocking treatment must be resolved first.
- Protecting floors, furniture, frames and fixed fittings.
- Cleaning or degreasing suitable surfaces.
- Filling screw holes, small dents and limited cracks.
- One or more filler coats with the required drying time.
- Sanding and thorough dust removal.
- Spot or full priming where the substrate requires it.
- Painting agreed walls, ceilings, trim or details.
Information needed before quoting
Send overview and close-up photos of damage. Provide room length, width and height, doors and windows, whether ceilings and trim are included, and the intended colour change. A dark-to-light change may need extra coats, while plasterboard, masonry, wallpaper and timber require different systems.
Clear the room to the agreed level. Heavy furniture can sometimes be moved for an additional charge but must be planned. Disclose known leaks, moisture and previous repairs that may affect adhesion or drying.
Price and materials
Painting and filling starts from NOK 390/m² including VAT, with a Booking PUBLIC_1_2 minimum order of NOK 5,900. A fixed quote may be offered where area, substrate, treatments and finish are clear. Paint, filler, primer, abrasives, tape and protection are additional.
Customers may supply suitable products or ask Komfortliv to organise them. Purchases through Komfortliv include documented product costs and agreed selection, collection and transport time.
Drying, inspection and final result
Drying depends on product, temperature, humidity and layer thickness, so several visits may be required. Protection and tape are removed at the appropriate stage. The final coat is checked in normal daylight or working light; minor texture differences can remain where the wall has not been fully skimmed.
Report visible issues promptly, preferably within 24 hours after inspection is possible. Damage from using uncured surfaces is not part of ordinary correction.
Frequently asked questions
How many coats will the wall need?
It depends on the colour change, substrate and product. The expected coat count is stated after assessment.
Can you make every wall completely flat?
Full skim coating can be assessed, but it is a larger scope than ordinary spot filling and is priced by area and finish.
Does the property need to be empty?
Not always. Furniture can be grouped and protected, although empty rooms provide faster, safer access.
Can wallpaper be painted over?
Some sound, suitable wallpaper can be painted after checking adhesion, joints, texture and substrate.
