Cleaning that respects the textile
Sofas, chairs, mattresses and carpets collect dust, hair, odours and stains that ordinary vacuuming may not remove. Textiles also tolerate different levels of moisture and agitation. Komfortliv provides upholstery and carpet cleaning in Oslo after assessing the fabric, care label, construction and desired improvement.
Before booking, we request photos of the full item, close-ups of stains and any care labels. We cannot promise to remove every discolouration. Sun fading, wear, colour changes, old chemical marks and fibre damage may remain even when the surface is cleaner.
What can we clean?
- sofas, armchairs and upholstered dining chairs
- mattresses and headboards with suitable textile covers
- loose and fitted carpets where the backing tolerates the method
- textile surfaces in offices, waiting areas and small commercial premises
- agreed stains and high-wear areas
Leather, suede, silk, hand-knotted rugs, antique textiles and materials without reliable care information require individual assessment. Where risk is high, we recommend a specialist cleaner rather than experimenting on the customer's property.
How the work is carried out
The area is first vacuumed thoroughly. Stains are then assessed and a small inconspicuous area may be tested. Product, moisture and agitation are adapted to the material. After cleaning, as much moisture as possible is removed and the customer receives ventilation and reuse guidance.
Drying time depends on the fabric, thickness, temperature, humidity and ventilation. Furniture should not normally be covered or used until dry. The customer must provide ventilation and adequate warmth.
Stains, odours and hygiene expectations
Fresh water-soluble stains are often easier to reduce than old grease, ink, rust or dye stains. Odours may remain in foam, timber or subfloor and can return after surface cleaning. Urine, suspected mould, pests or biological contamination must be clearly described before we assess whether ordinary textile cleaning is appropriate.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly does a sofa dry?
Drying time varies. Good ventilation and normal room temperature help, but thick cushions and dense weaves may need considerably longer than thin textiles.
Can you clean a mattress on the day it will be used?
Allow enough time for complete drying. A damp mattress should not be used, so book well in advance.
Will pet odours disappear?
Surface odours can often be reduced. If liquid has penetrated deep into foam or flooring, more than ordinary cleaning may be needed.
Do you clean carpets at the customer's property?
This is assessed according to carpet type, size, backing and drying conditions. Send photos of the front, back and any label.
Request a material assessment: Send photos, measurements, care-label information and a brief description of stains or odours. We can then assess the method and price before attending.
