Winter service with a realistic response time
Snow and ice can make entrances, footpaths, waste areas and smaller parking zones difficult to use. Komfortliv provides snow clearing and gritting for homes, offices, shops and smaller communal areas throughout Oslo and nearby areas within about 20 kilometres.
Planned work may take place at any time by arrangement, but new enquiries are handled Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. The standard service is not guaranteed emergency cover. Your agreement therefore identifies the included area, normal service timing and treatment of exceptional snowfall.
What winter maintenance may include
Municipal roads, public pavements outside the agreed responsibility, roofs, icicles, avalanche hazards and large areas requiring a tractor or wheel loader are not automatically included. Hauling snow away is separately priced and needs suitable access, transport and an approved destination.
- Manual clearing at entrances, steps, paths and access to waste containers.
- Clearing smaller parking or loading areas once vehicles and obstacles are removed.
- Gritting with agreed gravel or another suitable traction material.
- Removing loose snow around doors, gates and letterboxes.
- Placing snow in a pre-approved location on the property.
- Rechecking agreed zones when temperature or precipitation changes conditions.
- Spring sweeping and collection of grit as a separate order.
Information needed for a winter agreement
Send a marked-up plan or photos, the address, opening hours and priority zones. Identify steps, paving, heating cables, gates, parked vehicles and the approved snow-storage location. The customer ensures access and removes loose items, cables and other obstacles.
Businesses and housing associations should name a contact, notification route, storage access and the people authorised to request extra work. We can document completed visits in the agreed format, but do not assume the customer's legal property responsibility or continuous monitoring between visits.
Price, gritting material and capacity
Guide prices start from NOK 875 per hour including VAT. One-off work normally has a NOK 3,000 minimum order. A fixed seasonal agreement or per-visit price is calculated from area, distance, requested timing, priority and expected workload.
Gravel, sand or other agreed material is additional unless included. Salt is not used until the surface, plants, animals, metal and customer preferences have been considered. Extreme weather, continuous snowfall and simultaneous bookings may affect timing; capacity and response time are confirmed in writing.
Safe execution
Snow is not placed in front of emergency exits or drains, on a neighbour's property, or where it blocks sightlines and traffic. On hard ice, gritting can improve traction without immediately removing the entire layer. Inspect the zone and report visible issues promptly, preferably within 24 hours of the visit.
Frequently asked questions
Do you come automatically when it starts snowing?
Only under an active winter agreement with a defined trigger, priority and contact. One-off requests require confirmation.
Can you grit without salt?
Yes. Gravel is often suitable for paths and smaller areas. The material is selected for the surface and agreement.
Do you remove snow and ice from roofs?
Not as a standard service. Roof work and avalanche hazards require specialist safety measures and a qualified provider.
Can you clear around waste containers?
Yes. Access to and around the containers can be added to the task list for waste collection days.
