There is no universal treatment for every floor

Floors are affected by grit, moisture, furniture, footwear and unsuitable products. When ordinary cleaning no longer gives an even result, deeper scrubbing or protective treatment may be needed. Komfortliv provides floor treatment in Oslo after assessing the floor type, age, wear and previous products.

We do not apply polish, oil or intensive machine cleaning until the material is identified. Vinyl, linoleum, tile, natural stone, laminate and wood have different properties. The wrong chemistry or excess water can cause marks, loosen joints or damage the surface.

Work that can be assessed

  • deep cleaning and scrubbing of suitable hard floors
  • removal of dirt film and residue from incorrectly dosed products
  • periodic maintenance of vinyl and linoleum floors
  • polish or another protective treatment where product and substrate are compatible
  • targeted treatment of floors in offices, shops, entrances and other high-use areas

Sanding, lacquering, extensive oiling, parquet repair, loose tiles and moisture damage are not ordinary cleaning. These jobs are assessed separately and may require a specialist flooring contractor.

Assessment before work

Send photos of the whole floor and close-ups of wear, joints and previous treatment. State the material, age and products used if known. We recommend a site visit and test area for larger surfaces. A test shows how the surface reacts but may not predict every variation in an older or uneven floor.

The room should be cleared of small furniture and loose items. Heavy furniture is moved only by agreement. Tell us about underfloor heating, loose joints and areas sensitive to moisture. Access for people and animals must also be controlled while the floor dries.

Treatment and drying time

Loose dust and grit are removed first. The agreed method is then used in controlled zones. Protective treatment may require several thin coats and drying between coats, so the room may be unavailable for several hours or longer depending on product, temperature and ventilation.

The customer receives basic ongoing-care guidance. Products that are too strong or incorrectly dosed can shorten treatment life, while grit should be removed regularly to limit new scratches.

Protection, not repair: Cleaning and surface care can improve appearance and simplify maintenance, but do not remove deep scratches, structural damage or permanent discolouration.

Frequently asked questions

Can you treat parquet flooring?

Gentle cleaning can be assessed. Sanding, lacquering, extensive oiling and repairs are priced separately and may require a specialist.

Must all furniture be removed?

Small furniture should be removed. Heavy items may be moved in stages if the floor, crew and drying time make this safe.

When can the floor be used again?

It depends on the method. Ordinary scrubbing dries faster than multi-coat treatment. We state the expected closure period before work begins.

Can you guarantee every mark will disappear?

No. Marks may result from wear, moisture, sunlight or previous chemicals. We assess what can probably be improved without damaging the floor.

Request a floor assessment: Send photos, floor area, floor type and previous-treatment information. For larger areas, we arrange a site visit before the final quote.
