When furniture must come apart before moving
Large beds, wardrobes, tables and office furniture do not always fit through doors or stairs when assembled. Komfortliv provides disassembly and reassembly as a standalone service or part of a move, keeping parts and fittings organised for the new address.
We first assess the furniture type, age, condition, fixings and available instructions. Older flat-pack furniture may weaken after repeated disassembly, while glued or nailed construction may not be designed to come apart.
Furniture and tasks we can assess
Send photos, dimensions and a product link or instructions where available. Missing standard fittings can sometimes be purchased by agreement, but discontinued manufacturer-specific parts may not be obtainable.
- Beds, tables, shelves and freestanding wardrobes.
- Office desks, chairs and freestanding storage.
- Labelling parts and keeping screws in separate bags.
- Preparing furniture for carrying and transport.
- Reassembly, placement and adjustment at the new address.
Work that needs separate assessment
Fitted kitchens, built-in wardrobes, heavy wall cabinets, sanitary items and anything connected to electricity or water are outside ordinary furniture assembly. Regulated work requires a qualified trade provider. Wall-mounting TVs, shelves or cabinets also requires separate details about the wall, concealed services and suitable fixings.
Labelling and responsibility
We can photograph or label relevant details and keep fittings with the correct item. Tell us about existing damage, loose parts or earlier repairs. If another carrier takes over after disassembly, agree who will protect each component and verify that every part arrives. Reassembly cannot be completed if items or fittings are missing.
Price and materials
Guide prices start at NOK 990 per hour including VAT, with a usual minimum order of NOK 3,000. The total depends on quantity, construction, instructions, existing damage, wall fixing and replacement parts. Travel, parking, tolls, fixings and materials are additional.
Larger jobs may receive a fixed quote from a product list and photos. A materially different product or condition is agreed as a change before work continues.
Frequently asked questions
Do you assemble used furniture?
Yes, if the construction and fixing points remain sound enough. Send photos of screws, holes and damage first.
Can you dismantle before the move and return later?
Yes. Parts must remain labelled and together, and the reassembly date is booked as part of the project.
Do you bring tools?
We bring ordinary hand tools for the agreed furniture work. Specialist tools and manufacturer-specific parts must be confirmed.
Can you disconnect a sink or cooker?
Not as ordinary furniture work. Fixed water and electrical connections require the appropriate qualified provider.
